6 Surprisingly Easy Ways To Use Ready Made Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

I love learning about different, non-traditional uses for stuff. Learning how to do more with less has saved me quite a bit of time, effort, and money over the years! And not only is it practical to learn all the different ways you can use what you already have at home, but it can also be fun and (if you’re really lucky) DELICIOUS! Today’s post is all of that and more, because I’m sharing 6 different things you can make using store-bought pizza dough.

Pizza Dough

Whether you buy the pizza dough that comes in a can, or fresh dough from a bakery or pizzeria, there’s no denying that pre-made dough is the easiest way to make homemade pizza. But I recently learned that store-bought pizza dough is capable of becoming so much more than just pizza! This one simple dough can serve as the base for all kinds of home-baked snacks and treats. So without further ado, here are 6 delicious (and super simple!) things you can make with store-bought pizza dough.

6 Delicious Ways To Use Store-Bought Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough

1. Crackers

You can use pizza dough to make some seriously delicious crackers! These crackers taste homemade, and are the perfect match for your favorite dip.

To make crackers, roll out your pizza dough until it’s really thin. Poke the dough all over with a fork, then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake the dough at 400°F for about 5 minutes. Flip the bread over and cook for another minute or two, until crisp. Let the bread cool, then cut it into cracker-sized pieces. Yum!

2. Dinner Rolls

Use pizza dough to make deliciously fluffy dinner rolls! Just roll the dough into balls about 1″ in diameter. Place two dough bags into each of the cavities of an oiled muffin tin, and let the dough rise for about 40 minutes. Then lightly brush the tops of the dough with oil, sprinkle with salt, and place the muffin tin in the oven. Bake at 400°F for about 20 minutes, until the tops of the rolls are golden-brown.

3. Baguettes

Use prepared pizza dough to make a fresh and tasty baguette! Roll the dough into a small log, then let it rise for 40 or so minutes until it doubles in size. Lightly brush the top with butter or olive oil, and bake at 400°F for about 20 minutes.

Pizza Dough

4. Breadsticks

Everyone loves breadsticks, and making your own using pizza dough couldn’t be easier! Roll your pizza dough into long, skinny sticks, then bake at 400°F for about 10 minutes, or until golden-brown.

Pizza Dough

5. Pot Pies

Use prepared pizza dough to make super easy pot pies. Fill ramekins with your favorite pot pie filling, then lay a piece of rolled-out pizza dough over the top of each ramekin. Brush the tops of the dough pieces with olive oil, then bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Once the filling is heated through and the dough is golden-brown, they’re ready!

6. Fry Bread (AKA Utah Scones)

Fry bread (which we call a “scone” here in Utah) is a summertime staple around here! You can make your own fry bread using prepared pizza dough. Slather it with butter and serve it with honey or cinnamon sugar for a delicious treat!

To make fry bread, separate your pizza dough into balls. Roll out the balls, then fry them in a shallow pan with a thin layer of oil over medium heat. Cook each side of the bread for about 3 minutes, then transfer them to a plate lined with a paper towel. Serve warm, and enjoy! :-)
