  1. I came across a genius use for pegboard just yesterday – Nerf gun storage (it could work for a variety of other toys as well). I’ll be picking up the bits needed to create an armory for my son next time I go to the hardware store, in the vague hope that it will limit him leaving guns and ammo all around the house.
And if plain white or brown isn’t your thing, it’s easy enough to paint, of even paste a nice poster over.

  2. Where my husband works, they have tools hanging on PB and have traced around each one with a marker so that when one is used, everyone knows where it should go back.

  3. My mom was very stylish and, growing up in our home in the 1950s, we had a very “hip” piece of art on the living room wall…made with a peg board! It was painted white and, using white golf tees, she made a styalized cat from string or yarn (I can’t remember…after all, I was a little kid!). String art has been all over, with nails in boards. Peg board is so much easier and very cool!

  4. I have used pegboard in my craft room (when I was lucky enough to have a home that I could have one) for years. The number of items you can hang on the board for easy use as well as just being able to see where they are is amazing. With all of the different types of hooks, or some I devised myself, it is a dream to have. It frees up the “flat” space on the counter top as well as reducing clutter in drawers.

  5. I put 4 pieces of white powder coated steel peg board in my kitchen next to the stove to hold all the utensils. You always know where things are and can see them. Also holds down low the dust pan and hand broom for quick clean ups.

When it is time for a cleaning, I fill the sink dump the utensils into the water, let soak. While they soak I wash down the peg board. If need I put the utensils into the dishwasher and put back up.

I have re-organized this 3 times since we put it up 2 years ago as my needs change so does the peg board.

  6. Remember that pegboard is not designed for outdoor use. It will warp and disinegrate. So you would really have to deal it well, to use outside, even on a porch where it may be out of direct weather.

  7. Great pegboard ideas. I’m with you on its usefulness. When we retired and downsized to a one bedroom condo with limited storage space, I had my husband install PB to walls on both sides of living room slider and bedroom windows. I draped the walls from wall to wall, ceiling to floor. Behind drapes I have a couple 1950’s director chairs, a folding table, 2 folding clothes drying racks.on one side of one window. The other side has my ironing board and two folding tree racks for hanging clothes to dry. That’s just the bedroom hidden storage. Living room walls had craft supplies and crochet yarns in tote bags. None of it is seen. I am pleased with results.
