If you’ve read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone or seen the movie, you may be familiar with the Remembrall, the small glass ball filled with swirling smoke that turns red when the owner (in this case, Harry’s forgetful classmate Neville) has forgotten something.
As someone who finds themselves losing or misplacing things more and more frequently, I often wish I had a Remembrall of my own to give me a heads-up. (Though in fairness, it didn’t end up being very helpful for Neville, who couldn’t remember what he’d forgotten!)
But while we may not have access to magical means of remembering forgotten or lost items, there are plenty of non-magical products that can help. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing 7 of the most useful products out there for people who are always losing things! :-)
7 Useful Products For People Who Are Always Losing Things

1. Magnetic Bowl
This small magnetic bowl is meant to help corral sewing pins, but that’s not all you could use it for! Use it to keep track of hair pins, keys, and other small metal items that have a habit of disappearing on you.

2. Glasses Holder
One of the biggest hurdles I faced while adapting to needing reading glasses was constantly forgetting where I put them. I could have saved myself a lot of time and effort If only I had known about this handy magnetic eyeglass holder sooner.
This simple clip can be attached almost anywhere using the magnetic backplate. Once attached, it makes the perfect hook to hang your glasses from! With this clip, you’ll always have a convenient place to put your glasses.

3. Purse Organizer
For many of us, carrying a roomy purse can be both a blessing and a curse! It’s nice to be able to carry things around with you, but it can quickly become an organizational nightmare.
If you’re always searching for things in your purse, consider getting a purse organizer. They come in all shapes and sizes, and offer a simple solution for keeping things organized in the depths of your bag.

4. Universal Remote
Can’t keep track of all the remotes for your home entertainment system? Set yourself up with a universal remote like this one, which can control up to 4 different audio and video components and help simplify your setup considerably.

5. Key Finder
If you’re constantly looking for your car keys, a bluetooth tracker could save you a lot of time and effort. The Tile Pro offers a variety of useful features, including a 400’ bluetooth range and a loud ringer you’re sure to hear anywhere in the house!
If you’re looking for a more inexpensive option, the slightly less powerful Tile Mate offers similar finding features.

6. Pet Tracker
A pet tracker can help give you peace of mind when your dog is out playing in the yard. The tractive GPS Tracker for Dogs has a 300’ bluetooth range and will send a notification to your phone if your pet leaves the area.

7. Lip Balm Holder
I can’t even begin to fathom how many tubes of lip balm I’ve lost over the years. They have an unfortunate habit of simply disappearing without a trace!
If you’re always losing lip balm too, a lip balm keychain sleeve may be just the thing you need. Use it to keep your lip balm securely attached to your keys, ID badge, or anything else you carry around with you.
Have you lost or misplaced anything recently?

I can’t stand looking for things, it’s such a waste of valuable time. One thing that helps me to keep my keys in a place where I can always find them is a key holder by the door. It can be as simple as a nail or something pretty to hold them. I had in one in our home a long time ago that was a pretty wooden box with a door on it that closed to hold several different keys.

I used to have a lot of these but one by one they’ve disappeared until now I’m down to two, maybe one as I haven’t seen the other in a while. They should be in my bathroom drawer, on my dresser or in my bedside stand but I keep finding them in coat pockets, in other bags or in odd places around the house (although I suspect that one of my cats takes them as she loves elastic hair ties and these are similar). It should be easy enough to order or make more but I need to keep up with the darn things as I use them all the time when getting ready, going out or for low-impact workouts. Other than buying a bazillion of them so I don’t run out, does anyone have an idea for how not to misplace them or to find one when it goes missing?

I usually use a tote type purse for work and it can be such a black hole trying to find things,I love the mini organizer or even the clear ones where you can easily find stuff. If we lose anything at home it’s usually my moms keys or cell phone. She used to offer to pay us when she would lose them. I like that you can get the magnetic bowls fromHarbor Freight my brother in law loves them for gadgets and tools. I agree about the lip gloss holders you can make them cheaper. Love the pet locator idea. It would have been nice all the times were trying to find our last cat .If you could just program it to show you if they were in the house or outside.

Fold the ribbon at one end and sew to finish the edge. On the other end fold and sew to finish the edge, then fold again to secure the ring. If you are used to sewing you can do these two steps at once. Last fold the ribbon so the ring side is longer and sew the edges shut. Great gift for almost anyone. It can be hooked to keys, jacket, bag etc. It takes no time at all to make multiples.
I have a glasses holder but I keep forgetting to use it. LOL!

An inexpensive solution that my partner found was a holder that folds over the arm of the couch. As long as I remember to always put the remote control in the holder when I put it down, instead of leaving it in the middle of the couch or the coffee table, I can always find it.

Harbor Freight sells two sizes of them on the cheap, and sometimes they are even a free giveaway with purchase and coupon. If the chrome finish isn’t to ones liking, they can be easily painted. Also, regarding the universal remote control, if you have an LG tv with the “Magic Remote”, a universal remote will only work some of the sets functions, as in power, channel change and volume. The original remote is also an RF remote (radio frequency) that comtrol most of the smart functions of the smart tv sets. Consequently, if you need a replacement remote for all functions, a replacement original remote control can be readily found on Amazon.

I don’t often lose things with one exception, lip balm, like you I have lost countless tubes of lip valm!
Having dry skin my lips often chap, so I like to gave lip balm in handy places.
Living on the Isle of Man where it is windy almost every day makes it worse, so I decided to nake my own as it is difficult to locate any nearby. I sew regularly and had some cotton Manx Tartan, I had some hooks left from another project and had soon made about 16 of them. I bought 20 lip balms, attached one to the inside ķey fob ring of my handbag, one to my bed head where I can always find ońe; the rest were given away as gifts to family and friends.
